Täsä is your new way to contribute to urban planning!

Täsä is a location-based mobile application for citizen participation in urban planning piloted in Turku, Finland. Between 3.6.-30.9.2015, Täsä is one official participation channel of the City of Turku, thus enabling a dialogue between urban planners and citizens.


Join the conversation! With the Täsä app you can:

• Share your own improvement ideas, opinions, and thoughts
• Participate in tasks given by the city of Turku
• Participate in discussions started by fellow citizens
• Create surveys
• Report things that do not work properly

Every participant is also a player in a game in which he/she gains area (points) by active usage of the app.

Täsä is implemented as part of the b-Part research project involving FTW Telecommunications Research Center (AT), University of Turku (FI) and Örebro University (SE). The project is funded by JPI Urban Europe.


Privacy Policy

The information submitted in the app will serve for a) policy input to the City of Turku’s preparation and decision-making process and b) academic research on the characteristics of mobile participation. No information shall be disclosed for commercial purposes. Anonymous and/or aggregated data (intermediate or final results) might be displayed on the Turku municipality’s digital info-screens.
The app accesses the user’s current location for specific functionalities (e.g. posting contributions, displaying the distance to posts). Users can disable their location service at any time either within the app or globally/ phone settings. At all times, users are in control of the amount of information they want to share. Login credentials (username, password and email address) and questionnaire data are stored for research purposes onlyThe password is encrypted, and all data is secured by an authentication process.
